Ukraine must break off all relations with Belarus and officially recognize the president of this republic, Alexander Lukashenko, as self-proclaimed.

Verkhovna Rada deputy from Petro Poroshenko's party Sofia Fedyna stated this on air on the Lvov NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

In addition, she called on the Ukrainian Security Council to prepare a package of sanctions against the Belarusian president and his entourage.

“Officially, Ukraine and our other partners recognize the Belarusian regime as such that it poses a threat to international security, stop any diplomatic contacts with the Belarusian regime, except for issues of political prisoners and refugees, immediately stop the import of electricity - this is a very interesting question, as it is happening now, stop air traffic, prepare a package of NSDC sanctions against regime figures, in particular Alexander Lukashenko, and at the official level - this is a very important point, call Alexander Lukashenko the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, as some countries have done, and use this definition in official documentation,” Fedyna said.

Her idea was supported by one of the leaders of the VO “Svoboda”, former vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Koshulinsky. In his opinion, Ukraine should simplify the regime for the presence of Belarusian oppositionists on its territory:

“What I would recommend to the Ukrainian authorities today is to show the Belarusian people as quickly as possible that this is where we, Ukrainians, help them. It is not the Lukashenko regime – the Belarusians who should come to Ukraine – who receive maximum preferences. Those who rise up today in opposition to the Lukashenko-Putin regime are our friends.

Today, the stay of Belarusians in Ukraine is limited to 180 days. What kind of interstate agreements can there be today between the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine and Belarus? That's it, these interstate agreements have been closed.

Migration Service. Today we have an extradition agreement. They closed the extradition agreement and even forgot about it.

That is, today Ukraine as a state must show Belarusians that we support you. Yes, we will close everything that can be closed to the Lukashenko regime, but those who fight for Belarus, in particular, those opposition political forces - today we are talking about the Belarusian Popular Front, about the organization "Solidarity-Together" - are those who did not lower hands who always stood in opposition to Lukashenko and did not flirt.”
