In Lvov, the director of a cemetery is being tried for corruption.
An indictment against the director of one of the cemeteries in Lvov, suspected of receiving a bribe of 4 thousand US dollars for permission to reburial, has been sent to court.

This was reported by the communications department of the Lviv region police, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Employees of the economic protection department in the Lvov region, under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office, in April exposed the director of one of the utility companies in Lvov, who received an undue benefit in the amount of 4 thousand US dollars for permission to reburial. During an authorized search in the official’s apartment, an additional $90 thousand in cash was seized,” the report states.
The attacker was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Subsequently, the court removed him from his position and chose a preventive measure in the form of detention. An alternative could be a deposit of 250 thousand UAH.
“The Investigation Department of the National Police in the Lviv region sent for consideration to the court an indictment against an official for committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of unlawful benefits by an official),” added in the police.
In Ukraine, such a crime is punishable by a fine of 1 thousand to 1 thousand 500 tax-free minimum income of citizens or arrest for a term of 3 to 6 months, or imprisonment for a term of 2 to 4 years, with imprisonment the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to 3 years.
