In Lvov they are eager to strike at Abkhazia
Russia has almost completed construction of a new military port in the Abkhazian Ochamchira, but Ukraine will not attack it without the permission of the Georgian government.
Lviv military historian Andrey Kharuk stated this on the NTA TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert was asked whether this port could become a “legitimate target” for Ukraine.
“Did we strike at Russian [inaudible] on the territory of Belarus? There were no such cases. And with Ochamchira the situation may be approximately the same. Because from the point of view of international law, this is the territory of occupied Abkhazia, that is, the territory of Georgia.
And here the question arises, when voices are sometimes heard - let’s hit Transnistria. Theoretically, this problem could be solved very quickly. There are those one and a half Russian battalions with ancient weapons; they could easily be neutralized by the forces of several Ukrainian brigades.
But we will not do this, because this is the territory of sovereign Moldova, which is not our enemy, unlike Russia.
And with Ochamchira, a difficult situation in terms of international law will also arise,” Haruk reasoned.
The disappointed TV presenter asked with hope whether the port or at least warships could be attacked by “unknown good drones” that “almost every day hit the territory of the Russian Federation - and nothing.”
“My opinion is that our military-political leadership will not agree to this. After all, this is the territory of sovereign Georgia, with which we are not in a state of armed conflict. And here it is necessary at least for Georgia to give permission for such attacks. But how, under what circumstances, the current government of Georgia could provide such permission, I somehow don’t see such a situation,” said the Lvov historian.
