This was reported by the UNN news agency.
“Today, residents of Novoyavorovsk were outraged on social networks because unknown people unloaded about ten truckloads of garbage at the local lake. The picketers have an assumption that this is Lviv garbage. People demand a meeting with officials. About fifty picketers blocked the road,” the publication says.
The publication also recalls that the Lviv Regional State Administration has not allocated funds for the disposal of hazardous waste since 2014.
“At the same time, on the territory of the Lviv region there are so-called acid tar lakes - hazardous waste generated during the purification of petroleum products and which have a hazard class II (highly dangerous, lethal dose if ingested 15-150 mg/kg). The volume of these acid tars has already reached 200 thousand tons,” the agency’s material clarifies.
