“At the school (where the polling station is located - editor's note) two lines are visible: a short line for the elections and a long line for cabbage, carrots and potatoes for 1 hryvnia per kilogram. Vegetables were sold for one hryvnia on this day at each polling station in the DPR. Those who had already attended the elections stood in line for vegetables,” writes Kanygin.
ЕIf at polling stations there are long lines for potatoes for hryvnia, then in the “Chateau” restaurant in the center of Donetsk, near which the expensive cars of the new DPR leaders are parked, oysters have appeared for 75 UAH, writes Kanygin.
“As the waiters told me, oysters were added to the menu due to “numerous requests from new guests,” he writes. “The clients themselves, some in suits, some in camouflage, relax with local girls.”
“These new guests are now everywhere in Donetsk,” writes Kanygin. – For example, Chechen fighters spend their evenings in the Sun City cafe, military personnel with a Russian dialect and Ossetians spend their evenings in the Banana cafe. These establishments are open for their new guests at night, despite the curfew.”
