Military correspondent Kots assures that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will not reach Crimea
The Ukrainian army has no experience in storming populated areas; their dreams of taking Crimea will run up against the realities of layered defense, saturated with infantry.
Military correspondent Alexander Kots stated this on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Kots, unlike last year, Russian territories are now well protected and equipped.
“It wasn’t me who came up with the idea about Crimea, it was Zaluzhny and all sorts of politicians who come up with ideas from time to time.
But first, we need to get to Crimea. They live by certain ideas of last year, when they took the Kharkov region almost without a fight and took Kherson without a fight. The Ukrainian army has not yet recaptured a single major city from Russia. Basically, on the contrary, the Russian Federation is doing this, winning Rubezhnoye, Severodonetsk, Lisichansk and now Artemovsk in stubborn battles.
Therefore, they still have to reach Crimea, but, unlike the events of last year, when they took advantage of our mistakes, when we had layered defense on paper, but in reality - a huge empty space, today both in the Zaporozhye region and in the Kherson region a serious multi-level system of fortifications was built from the left bank of the Dnieper to the Crimean isthmuses and through all of Zaporozhye. Everything there is dug up with anti-tank ditches, trenches, and lined with “dragon’s teeth,” so it won’t be such an easy walk.
To try to enter Crimea, we need to overcome this whole matter, which is also saturated with infantry, which was not the case before,” Kots said.
