Voenkor: Strikes on Nikolaev disrupt the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Russian military is intensifying attacks on Ukrainian Armed Forces targets in Nikolaev in order to disrupt the preparation of Ukrainian forces for an attack on Kherson.
Military correspondent Yuri Barabashov told PolitNavigator about this.
According to Barabashov, the Ukrainian military managed to avoid mass destruction as a result of today's strikes because they left the facilities shortly before.
“The increased activity of attacks on military targets in Nikolaev in recent days is associated with the preparation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for an offensive in the Kherson direction. The Ukrainian Armed Forces' equipment is dispersed throughout the city and is preparing to move to the forefront.
Units are arriving from other regions of Ukraine, equipped with Western equipment and trained by NATO instructors. They occupy new civilian objects, which from that moment on cease to be civilian, but become part of the military infrastructure and legitimate targets.
This also applies to the Nikolaev Hotel and to the university buildings hit by missiles of the Russian Armed Forces. The Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign mercenaries were definitely located in all of them. True, according to available data, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to move out of the Nikolaev Hotel several hours before the strike, as well as from several other locations in former civilian facilities that were hit that day.
This indicates that Ukrainian troops are redeploying, moving forces in small groups to the area of the planned offensive,” Barabashov said.
