Voenkor: The Russian Armed Forces lack improvisational generals and long-range artillery
Today, Russian troops seriously lack the ability for maneuverability and improvisation of generals on the ground, as was the case during the Chechen campaign.
Russian military correspondent Alexander Sladkov said this on the air of “Moscow Speaks,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today there is a lot of air defense here, the courage of the pilots here is required beyond measure. Secondly, we are still opposed not by militants, but by people just like us, even the mentality is similar, they know how to fight, they are the same Slavs. This is a bloody civil strife organized by the West between the peoples who live in Russia - both there and there are the same people and nationalities.
I may set the respected generals against me, but we don’t have such stars as Shamanov, Makarov, Kulikovsky, Troshev, we don’t have such talented generals. Maybe what they were allowed then was improvisation, generation of some ideas,” said Sladkov.
He emphasized that today's war is completely different.
“There is foreign artillery, 155 caliber, MLRS, which are used to strike from long distances. And in terms of tactical and technical characteristics and the range of destruction, we have “Msta-S”, “Msta-B”, “D-20”, “D-30”, a maximum of 30 kilometers, although I am exaggerating.
And on their side, up to 47 km, these [American howitzers] 777. The French will blink a little more, after this bastard delivered these guns [Caesar self-propelled guns] to our enemy. Everything will come back. As for the battle, it is very serious, and we are winning,” the military correspondent is confident.
