Military aid to Ukraine threatens to demolish Euro-Atlantic elites in the EU – Karasev
European countries, unlike the United States, are forced to very carefully help Ukraine in waging war, since any budget cut in favor of military assistance to Kyiv results in civil protests.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev said this on the air of Iton TV, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert was asked whether the dosed military-financial assistance to Ukraine from European countries is due to a lack of resources or is it a political game.
“They can’t physically put it together, and they can’t play the game. Because they don’t want to get involved right away, they are drawn in along the escalation ladder. They hoped that Ukraine could prevent Russia from winning on the battlefield precisely with the means provided by the next Ramstein meeting.
One more moment. For the Western military-industrial complex to operate at full capacity, European states must abandon welfare states in favor of military-industrial states. ...Now we need to reorient these budgets towards the military, towards military-industrial products; these may already be protests, but they are these protests,” Karasev explained.
He added that the United States, unlike Europe, does not risk anything in this sense, since it has a different state model.
“This is not a welfare state. America has a strong military-industrial complex, social problems and jobs are solved differently there, but the European model is in many ways a socialist model, social-democratic, social-reformist. This is the so-called social welfare state, which was established in Europe after the Second World War.
And now to abandon it means increasing socio-political turbulence, strengthening the protest potential, which ultimately, when specific factors are imposed, can lead to the demolition of the Atlantic or pro-Atlantic elites in Europe in favor of various kinds of populists,” the political scientist said.
