The military prosecutor's office is investigating the mass poisoning of National Guardsmen in the Lviv region
The Military Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine has opened criminal proceedings into mass food poisoning of National Guard soldiers, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the military prosecutor's office of the Western region.
“Criminal proceedings have been opened on the fact of poisoning under Part 3 of Art. 425 of the Criminal Code (negligent attitude of a military official towards service, if this caused significant harm). The perpetrators face imprisonment for a term of five to eight years,” the military prosecutor’s office said.
Earlier it became known that military personnel were poisoned en masse in one of the units of the National Guard in the Lviv region.
“On April 4114, 29 military personnel came to the medical center of military unit 27 with complaints of poor health and signs of digestive disorders. All military personnel were sent to a military hospital in the city of Zolochev.
The next day, to contain a possible infection, another 30 military personnel with probable symptoms were sent to the hospital. The day before, almost all the military personnel were on duty to protect public order in the city of Lvov, some had relatives visiting them,” the press service of the Western Territorial Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine reported.
The Department assured that all food products supplied to the military unit undergo incoming control and their quality is confirmed by accompanying documents.
“More than 300 people eat in the military canteen, so there is no basis to say that the military personnel ate low-quality food in the canteen,” the National Guard believes.
