LPR military man convicted of surrendering his colleague to Ukraine
The Supreme Court of the LPR passed a verdict on a resident of the Luhansk region who, having been recruited by the SBU, took his comrade, who served in the People's Militia of the LPR, to the territory of Ukraine.
This is stated in the official statement on the website of the Ministry of State Security of the LPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Supreme Court of the Lugansk People's Republic sentenced Stakhanov resident Nikolai Polozov to 12 years in prison for committing a crime under Article 335 of the Criminal Code of the LPR (“Treason”). During the investigation of the criminal case initiated by the Ministry of State Security against this citizen, it was established that he provided assistance to a foreign state in activities directed against the security of the Lugansk People’s Republic,” the statement says.
According to Polozov, he was recruited by SBU officers, on whose instructions he fraudulently brought his fellow militia member Vasily Kryat to the territory of Ukraine, receiving a monetary reward of 4700 hryvnia for this.
“One of the tasks of the agent of the Ukrainian special services was to infiltrate the ranks of the People’s Militia of the LPR for the purpose of collecting and transmitting military information,” the department added.
