There is no military solution to the conflict in Ukraine - Steinmeier

“It must be clear to both sides that there can be no military solution to the conflict,” Deutche Welle quoted the foreign minister as saying.
On Monday, Steinmeier held a meeting with his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts, which, however, was not successful.
“This is an incredibly difficult situation,” the German foreign minister said. Relations with Russia will be the main topic of next Monday's meeting of EU foreign ministers. Representatives of EU countries, writes DW, are divided on the issue of how to behave with Russia. Some eastern EU countries, most notably Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, fear the EU is being too soft on Russia, while Italy and France favor a conciliatory stance.
