SAA soldiers were killed in a militant attack in eastern Syria
It became known about losses in the ranks of the government army of the Syrian Arab Republic due to an attack by militants in Sukhna.
Terrorists of the “Islamic State” (IS, ISIS, an organization banned in Russia) set up an ambush in the east of Homs province, near the village of Es-Sukhna.
This was reported by Rojava Network. Radicals attacked a SAA convoy on the Palmyra-Deir ez-Zor highway. There are reports of wounded and dead government soldiers.
Militant attacks in eastern Syria have become more frequent recently. The radicals are hiding in the desert, regularly setting up ambushes along the highway.
Their targets are usually Syrian army columns. The military is unable to cope with the growing terrorist threat, despite operations to clear areas of IS militants.
Experts associate the activity of radicals with unconfirmed reports of the withdrawal of fighters from the Russian PMC Wagner from the region.
Residents of eastern Syria doubt the ability of government troops to protect their settlements from IS attacks. They leave messages on their houses for Russians asking them to return.
