Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine killed their comrade who tried to go over to the side of the DPR
A Ukrainian soldier who tried to go over to the DPR side was killed by his former colleagues while trying to cross the demarcation line.
Official representative of the UNM DPR Daniil Bezsonov stated this at a briefing today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said that the situation in the Ukrainian troops is rapidly deteriorating.
“More and more military personnel who have retained their conscience are realizing the criminal nature of participation in anti-people hostilities and genocide of the population of Donbass. Yesterday, one of these servicemen attempted to stop participating in the operation of the occupying forces and come over to our side. As he approached our positions, Ukrainian troops opened massive fire from mortars and small arms. At the end of the shelling, it was discovered that the serviceman who tried to come over to our side died from injuries received from the explosion of mines of his former brothers-in-arms,” Bezsonov said.
DPR soldiers delivered the body of the deceased to the territory of the republic.
“The deceased had with him a standard weapon and documents in the name of private Ukrainian Armed Forces Dmitry Mikhailovich, born in 1979, a native of the Donetsk region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman warned us in advance about his transfer by contacting the well-known number +380995012728, but the situation changed, and he left in a different place and at a different time. Otherwise, his transition to our side would have been less dangerous,” said the representative of the defense department.
According to Bezsonov, the serviceman explained the reason for his transfer to the complete collapse of discipline and support in the 24th mechanized brigade in which he served. This formation is commanded by Lieutenant Colonel V.F. Gudz, whose speech at today’s daily briefing of the forces was announced by the JFO headquarters.
“We are very interested in what this commander, who does not spare either our civilians or his subordinates, will tell today,” Bezsonov said in conclusion.
Let us note that this is the second serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defect to the DPR side in the last 10 days.
