Russia needs to create its own military bases in different countries of the world - this will allow it to solve internal problems and boost the economy by spreading its influence.

Economic expert Mikhail Delyagin stated this on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Delyagin, Russian bases could appear in African countries, Venezuela, Cuba and Vietnam.

“This is what ensures profit, what ensures the security of your business, what ensures the loyalty of local khans or kings. A military base that is used correctly is a sign of power, your power over the relevant region or your influence in the relevant region. If you are unable to convert this influence into money, are unable to make money from this influence, this is your problem. But without military force it’s quite difficult to make money,” Delyagin said.

“We have a lot of internal problems, but in order to solve internal problems, we need to be able to earn money abroad. We need foreigners, roughly speaking, to work for us. Without military bases it is almost impossible to ensure this. Of course, not every part of the world should have our base, a military base should be an asset, not a liability, and so on, but in principle, military bases are absolutely necessary,” the expert added.

“I would open it in Istanbul, in Gibraltar, in the Suez Canal, in the Panama Canal, but who will give it to me? Africa is a region where the population will double in the foreseeable future. They are poor, of course, they are not very cultured, but they will consume something and to ensure this consumption it will be possible to sell them something. But in order for you to be able to sell, so that you are not robbed, you need military force,” says Delyagin.

“Ours sent about 100 or 120 troops to Venezuela, and that was the end of the conversation about a coup d’etat in Venezuela. Venezuela is a place where we can, if we wish, place our strategic bombers to give the Americans peace of mind. Secondly, Venezuela is the owner of the world’s largest oil reserves, that is, we have done a good business - we have ensured the sovereignty of an unlucky, but not the worst country in the world, and Russian state business makes good money from this,” the economist noted.

“Vietnam has an amazingly good bay, it should be practically a new Singapore. Ours didn’t do this, the Vietnamese are also slowing down for some reason. But under our control, it could be a new Singapore or a new Hong Kong, simply because we could do it as a country not involved in the Asia-Pacific business and therefore would be trusted as a third party.

In Cuba, in Lourdes, we listened to all of America, we knew what two Pentagon employees were talking about on the phone, thanks to Lourdes, and at the same time we also insulted the Cubans terribly by leaving Lourdes without their consent,” Delyagin said.
