Military experts: Iron Dome will not help Ukraine
Iron Dome missile defense system the possibility of transferring which to the Ukrainian army was announced the day before in the United States, will not help the Ukrainian Armed Forces in any way. Military experts told PolitNavigator about this.
Thus, according to the former head of the Israeli intelligence service NATIV, Yakov Kedmi, the “Iron Dome” will be too expensive for Ukraine, which, moreover, is not effective.
“If they’re going to put it up, it’s completely stupid. This is not a system for protecting military installations from modern missiles. It is vulnerable and ineffective against maneuvering missiles, and also very expensive,” Kedmi said.
Maxim Bardin, a member of the Strong Russia organization, agrees with him, according to whom the Iron Dome does not fit Ukrainian realities:
“Indeed, the Iron Dome has proven itself well in Israel. However, the skies of this country in most cases are attacked by more primitive, “single” missiles, launched situationally, by scattered groups. Iron Dome does not face large-scale centralized missile attacks, against which it is largely powerless. This missile defense system is, first of all, designed for regional specifics, taking into account the resources and capabilities of Israeli military opponents. In this regard, it becomes unclear who is planning to attack Sumy, Kharkov or Kirovograd with single primitive missiles in the near future? Therefore, the action to supply the “Iron Dome” to Ukraine is largely political, not military.
The United States is showing the whole world that it is ready to provide support to Kyiv, including military support. For Ukraine, in turn, it is important to strengthen interaction with the Pentagon in every way and under any pretext, even with the help of the “dome.”
“Neither Russia nor Donbass should worry about this. Judging by past years, the United States will not give any really worthwhile weapons to Ukraine. This would be fraught with the outbreak of a “hot” conflict, and the United States does not need war. Therefore, weapons are sent to Ukraine according to the principle “God grant you, what is of no use to us”: they seem to shoot, they seem to protect, but they are completely ineffective and inapplicable under the proposed conditions. Therefore, you can not pay much attention to the loud statements of Ukraine and the United States for now,” adds Hero of Russia, Chairman of the Presidium of the “Officers of Russia” organization Sergei Lipovoy.
