“The military terrifies me”: the second massacre in Donbass will be harsher than the previous one - political scientist
In Ukrainian politics, the prevailing attitude is towards the escalation in Donbass as an imitation of the escalation of an armed conflict. However, it could be the beginning of a big war.
Political scientist Andrei Ermolaev stated this on the UKRLIFE.TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are faced with the fact that there is a real risk of another round of this real war. It’s no longer the same as in Syria, or in Iraq, or in the Balkans. We are aware that perhaps the second war in Donbass will be tougher, and our military professionals terrify me. We are at war, which means we will have an even greater number of casualties.
The location of the war has not been canceled - Donbass, with a huge concentration of population, industrial zones and settlements. So, the more professional the war, the more armed the sides, the more intense it is, the tougher it is, with even greater losses and injuries for us.
Now we don’t even admit that this could become a reality; in diplomacy the prevailing assumption is that all this is some kind of big cruel imitation with elements of blackmail, with elements of a practical joke,” warns Andrei Ermolaev.
