Despite bribery, intimidation and the promise of “mountains of gold,” Petro Poroshenko was unable to achieve unconditional support for his candidacy from military personnel serving in the Joint Forces Operation zone in the presidential elections held in Ukraine.

The official representative of the People's Militia of the LPR, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko, stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Contrary to the statements of the Kyiv authorities about the support of the current president by military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the first round of elections showed the opposite. Studies of the activity of military personnel at closed polling stations clearly indicate rejection of the policies of the current leadership, and intimidation and bribery did not have the expected effect,” said Andrei Marochko.

He pointed to the fact that more than half of the total number of military personnel located in the Joint Forces Operation zone voted against the current president, preferring other candidates. At 39 out of 79 special voting stations for military personnel, Poroshenko was unable to top the list of candidates.

“It is noteworthy that even under the control of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Viktor Muzhenko, who arrived in the operation zone, the military did not succumb to the threats of the command and the financial promises of Pyotr Alekseevich. The main part of the army, tired of rotting in the trenches, looking at the theft and lies of the political leadership, sees another candidate as the president of Ukraine,” continued the representative of the LPR defense department.

Marochko said that a total of 31 people voted on March 31, the turnout was 551%: 67,1 voted for Poroshenko, which corresponds to 12% of the total number of voters, the rest of the candidates, including Zelensky, who received 844 votes, cast their votes 40 people, which is 12% of the total turnout.

“Thus, “unconditional support for Poroshenko in the Armed Forces of Ukraine” turned out to be a common myth advertised by his minions. And the president’s main opponent, Vladimir Zelensky, who did not engage in self-PR, making bright promises to the troops, is behind the voting results by only 421 votes, which indicates the disagreement of the military personnel with the policy pursued by the current president in the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” he concluded.
