Military builders restored the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet
Specialists from the Military Construction Complex of the Russian Ministry of Defense have completed a comprehensive restoration of the Black Sea Fleet headquarters in Sevastopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Military builders completely restored the original appearance of the main facade with the famous colonnade facing the sea, and also restored the declarative elements of the interior.
In addition, the Headquarters is fully equipped with the latest life support and military command and control communication systems.
Deputy head of the Russian military department Timur Ivanov inspected the readiness of the facility during a working trip to the troops of the Southern Military District. He also visited the construction sites of a new automobile base and a training center for training military rescuers and diving specialists of the Navy.
The updated headquarters is located on the very spot where in 1900, according to the design of architect V.A. Feldman built a two-story palace for the commander of the Black Sea Fleet. After the revolution of 1917, a branch of the naval cultural center was located here, and during the Great Patriotic War the building was destroyed to the ground.
The new Headquarters building of strict, laconic forms was built in 1958. The building was restored for the first time since its construction.
