Military analyst: The fight against the Highmars has entered a new stage. The hunt has begun
Thanks to the MLRS supplied by the Americans to Ukraine, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were able to hit rear cities that they had never reached before, but now Russia has learned to destroy these systems.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said retired 1st-rank captain, military expert Vasily Dandykin.
“All types of destroyed Western MLRS differ from the classic Grad-type multiple launch rocket systems. HIMARS and others are high-precision and long-range weapons. The range of the missiles that Ukraine has is up to 80 km, and they are aimed from space. These MLRS strike at our rear, but most importantly, at peaceful cities. They began to reach the same Alchevsk, where they could not reach before. They cause a lot of trouble,” Dandykin told Izvestia.
However, he says that now the fight against the “Hymars” has reached a new stage.
“First, our air defense learned to shoot down their missiles. Now the hunt has begun for the launchers themselves. We have something to fight against such MLRS. The new domestic multiple launch rocket system "Tornado-S" is not inferior to them in accuracy and superior in range. The work of our intelligence in identifying these targets has clearly improved,” says Dandykin.
Just yesterday, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that in the part of the Zaporozhye region occupied by the Kyiv regime, as a result of attacks by high-precision weapons of the Aerospace Forces, “five launchers of multiple launch rocket systems MLRS made in the USA and MARS-II made by the Russian Federation were destroyed.”
In addition, two Haymars launchers were destroyed in the area of Ilyichevka, Donetsk People's Republic.
