A military analyst explained what was wrong with the “liberation” of Zmeiny Armed Forces
The hoisting of the Ukrainian flag on Zmeiny Island, which had previously been abandoned by the Russian garrison, is nothing more than a PR campaign.
A military expert, captain of the 1st rank in the reserve, Vladimir Gundarov, said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He notes that in a situation of defeat, Ukrainians “have a bloody nose and need a symbol of victory,” at least some kind.
“They know how to create a disinformation campaign out of nothing. Now for a month they will tell from all the irons how they “captured” what was liquidated before the evacuation - the radar, weapons and ammunition,” Gundarov told Moskovsky Komsomolets.
In turn, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, former speaker of the parliament of Novorossiya Oleg Tsarev assesses the Ukrainian “liberation” of the island as follows:
“Ukraine held another flash mob, the practical benefit of which was zero.”
According to Tsarev, “Odessa must be liberated, and Zmeiny Island will be a pleasant addition to it, which we will receive automatically.”
