Arab and African countries look at Wagner PMCs as a panacea for solving various problems, says military expert Boris Rozhin.
In the Arab segment of social networks photos appeared inscriptions on the walls of houses in the Syrian desert. Through such messages, local residents ask to “return Wagner PMC to Deir ez-Zor.”
According to local opposition media, the Wagnerites allegedly left the region at the end of December 2020. After information appeared about the “withdrawal of Russian forces,” attacks on SAA convoys by militants of the “Islamic State” (IS, ISIS, banned in the Russian Federation) became more frequent in eastern Syria.
Orientalist and military expert Boris Rozhin drew attention to the situation. “Western propaganda around the Wagner PMC has formed a stable mythology around it, and in Arab and African countries they look at it as a panacea for solving various problems,” Rozhin emphasized.
