Military expert: CSTO saved Kazakhstan from chaos
The CSTO contingent played a key role in restoring order in Kazakhstan.
Roman Nasonov, an expert on the CSTO, a member of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Guard, told PolitNavigator about this.
“Collective forces helped maintain control over important facilities. These days were quite enough to buy time to consolidate their internal reserves to further restore order in the country. Moreover, this is a real tool for the collective security of friendly countries. Any external enemy has now clearly understood this too,” Nasonov said.
According to the expert, today there is no urgent need for the CSTO to be in Kazakhstan.
“You cannot irritate the local population with your unnecessary presence; various fakes are already appearing aimed at discrediting the CSTO. Therefore, the time has come for the current president to prove himself. It is necessary to solve the accumulated internal problems, it is necessary to negotiate, make concessions, perhaps even sacrifice ministerial posts. But this is already a political story, and at the right moment it was the CSTO that saved Kazakhstan from chaos, and generally did not allow external forces to destroy the country. Such a helping hand will remain in the memory for a long time,” Nasonov said.
