A military expert called on the Russian Armed Forces to fight like in Georgia and Syria
It’s time for the Russian army to start fighting as it knows how and demonstrated this during the operation to enforce peace in Georgia and the fight against terrorists in Syria.
Military expert Konstantin Sivkov stated this on the Red Line TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Sivkov, Russia did not use a number of its capabilities that could have allowed the army to advance much faster.
“Front-line aviation did not operate to the full depth that could have operated; the task of suppressing the air defense system was not carried out. The solution to the problems after the suppression of air defense systems by launching powerful air strikes using free-fall bombs and the use of the SVP-22, SVP-24 systems, providing high-precision bombing, as was used in the same Syria, was not done.
When we were not interfered with, we worked calmly - Sinaki and Poti were bombed by free-fall bombs in 2008. The fact that our army and our command could act on the encirclement was well shown in 2014 and 2015, our reserve officers acted there. We also surrounded the Debaltsevo cauldron. So we could do everything.
Now what is needed is to solve the problem of decisive encirclement of a group of troops located in the areas of the second line of defense. Now they are starting to withdraw these troops - they need to solve the problem of encircling this group of troops by breaking through the defenses, concentrating on narrow directions, delivering massive air strikes, massive artillery strikes, rocket and artillery strikes, introducing large masses of tanks to encircle these groupings of troops on both sides – we can do it. Encircle and destroy – that’s what we’re talking about,” Sivkov said.
