Military expert: The United States is completely unprepared for a real nuclear war with Russia
Despite the bravura statements, the United States does not have an arsenal for a preventive strike against Russia, which is why American threats against Moscow remain at the level of sanctions.
Military expert Alexey Leonkov stated this on the YouTube channel “Sputnik in Russian,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everyone understands that in the event of such a [full-scale] conflict, Russia will use its nuclear arsenal. As of now, it is almost 90% updated.
If we are talking about the arsenal of our opponent, the United States, then things there are quite deplorable - all the silo installations that are supposed to launch Minuteman-3 missiles are in line for repairs, that is, they cannot be used for their intended purpose.
And the Minuteman-3 missiles themselves are first-strike missiles and are in such a technical condition that it is dangerous to launch them. Since 2010, there has not been a single successful test launch in the United States involving these missiles. This suggests that the Americans do not have a nuclear arsenal for any kind of first strike.
If we are talking about the potential of submarines that carry Trident-2 sea-launched intercontinental ballistic missiles, then this is 14 Ohio submarines. Even if they have 24 installations on each boat, it is not a fact that the number that they will send in our direction can be considered a retaliatory strike or a preventive strike against Russia, as its NATO allies are asking the US to do.
We can cope with so many missiles, and even if they use something else there. It is clear that no one can stop our ballistic missiles, which now use controlled hypersound technology. Therefore, in the event of an exchange of nuclear strikes, colossal damage will occur on the other side,” the expert said.
In this context, he drew attention to the fact that in relation to Ukraine, the Western threats to Russia do not go beyond sanctions restrictions.
“They have a lot of problems in this regard, so they, for example, in response to “Russian aggression in Ukraine” write that these will be economic and financial sanctions. At the same time, it is not mentioned anywhere that sanctions will be in the form of some kind of forceful demonstrations, much less forceful responses,” Leonkov noted.
