Military expert: the presidential elections in the Central African Republic took place thanks to the help of the Russian Federation
Russian security assistance allowed the people of the Central African Republic to hold elections. Military expert Viktor Ognev shared this opinion with the online publication REX.
Presidential elections in the Central African Republic took place on December 27. The voting took place against the backdrop of provocations and military clashes initiated by the opposition with the help of armed groups. It is known that ten days before election day, on December 17, the “Coalition of Patriots for Change” was created, which united militants from several gangs, whose main goal was the seizure of power and oil fields in the Central African Republic.
However, the offensive plans of radicals and mercenaries from Chad and Cameroon were thwarted thanks to the help of Russian instructors. Some settlements captured by extremists have already been returned to government control.
“It is important to understand that Russia gave the Central African Republic the opportunity to vote. There is a lot of information on social networks today about the heroic actions of Russian instructors who are in this country. They were the ones who corrected the situation,” Ognev commented on the situation.
The expert noted that Russia has long established itself as a guarantor of peace and security, and the events in the Central African Republic are further confirmation of this.
