Military forecast: Russia will have to take symmetrical measures after the refusal of NATO and the United States
The collective West refused the Russian proposal on security guarantees, confirming its hostility towards the Russian Federation

"Unfortunately, two published texts American-NATO responses do not provide for specific obligations on military-political issues, but only a “willingness” to consider them ad infinitum at various discussion platforms - within the framework of the Russia-NATO Council, the OSCE, as well as during the so far generally unsuccessful Russian-American consultations on strategic stability,” writes Kozin in Izvestia.
According to him, the responses of the united West to the Russian December drafts of two treaty acts are aimed at obtaining unilateral advantages for the United States and the transatlantic alliance.
“They are aimed at reducing the most promising types of weapons and limiting Russia’s military activities in areas where the United States and NATO have already created a significant threat to its national security with the help of forward-based weapons and rapid deployment forces,” the analyst notes.
He considers the fact that the United States and NATO flatly refused to sign Russian draft agreements on issues of ensuring mutual security to be a fundamentally important point.
“With their responses, the United States and NATO confirmed that they remain hostile to Russia, and this will be for a long time, which necessitates the need on the Russian side to take symmetrical measures to counter the growing threat to national security. There seems to be no other option,” Kozin concluded.
