War of drones: in Russia they want to revive societies of “militant technicians”
Today in the combat zone there is a struggle between drones and suppression means, and therefore the Russian army is in dire need of new developments. This was stated by military expert Yuri Lyamin.
“Drones are constantly being developed to bypass electronic warfare (EW) systems, which in turn are also being improved, closing loopholes. This is a fast-growing area. And the greater the competition, the more effective means can be isolated from these ready-made developments. Then they will be actively tested, improved and updated, taking into account feedback from the Northern Military District zone directly from those who use them,” Lyamin told Izvestia.
And Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Economic University named after. Colonel Alexander Perendzhiev drew Plekhanov to the role of volunteers in supporting the army.
“These are not just volunteers, but let’s call them volunteer technicians. We are talking about the actions of voluntary technical craftsmen who directly offer their new products and know-how. In my opinion, they need to be formed as a public organization that will provide assistance to the army,” says the colonel.
He recalled that in the 1960s the book “The Partnership of Militant Technicians” was even published. And during the Soviet Union, there were various kinds of technical circles in the country.
