“The war in Donbass is beneficial to Zelensky” – Donetsk journalist
Kyiv is frankly playing for time, and the regime of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky does not set itself the goal of stopping the conflict in Donbass.
Donetsk journalist Ramil Zamdykhanov spoke about this in an interview with the Israeli channel ITON-TV, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In response to the presenter’s request to comment on the words of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at a security conference in Munich that his regime is ready “for dialogue with the civilian population of these territories, but not with those who are not recognized from the point of view of international law,” the expert answered the following:
“If I try to cross the border with Ukraine, I will definitely be arrested, sent to the SBU, and how all this will end is absolutely unclear. Although I did not hold a weapon in my hands, I am sure that a set of accusations against me has already been prepared and is waiting in the wings. What can we say about people who, let’s say, are more involved in local processes?”
According to the Donetsk journalist, the fact that Ukraine is so selective in its approach to the population living in Donbass and dividing people into “pure and unclean” indicates that Kyiv will continue to ignore the objective situation in the LDPR.
“We must accept the picture that has developed here, and only after its acceptance are constructive and productive negotiations possible,” Zamdykhanov believes. “And if for six years Ukraine continues to demonstrate selectivity bordering on disgust, it is obvious that it does not set itself the goal of resolving this conflict.”
The expert was greatly outraged by Zelensky’s words that “we didn’t start this war.”
"Who? Who else but Turchynov gave the order for the participation of the armed forces in suppressing the processes in Donbass? - said Zamdykhanov. “Well, if they deny the obvious, then what can we talk about further?.. The current Ukrainian government is once again playing for time.”
According to the journalist, Kyiv, on the one hand, declares its readiness to begin some kind of transformation, on the other hand, it finds a thousand tricks in order not to take steps for a peaceful settlement. Therefore, Zamdykhanov suggests that the conflict in Donbass, despite all Zelensky’s conciliatory rhetoric, is for some reason beneficial to the Ukrainian president.
