The war will not end until it reaches Western countries - Shatrov
The countries of the Western bloc will stop pitting Ukraine against Russia only when the war comes home to them.
Political scientist Igor Shatrov said this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert urged not to hope for big changes after the capture of Bakhmut.
“I would like it to be like Stalingrad, and after that the backbone of this reptile will be morally broken. But this will not make them less money. At least for now. Firstly, their machine works; gas is also produced not only by the Russian Federation. Therefore, our self-soothing mantras also need to be forgotten.
They got involved in a serious war, and they are already telling their population that they need to tighten their belts. That is, the guys are ready to fight with us for more than one year, they are ready for a long time,” Shatrov said.
He emphasized that the West will feel relatively normal until war comes to them.
“This could continue for several years, their airbag is quite large, they have enough strength and people can hang their hair on their ears for some time. And then, the people have not yet felt for themselves that this is war. When the French and British are called to war with Russia, perhaps then the issue will become acute. In the meantime, they are fighting on foreign territory with foreign forces - the white natives are fighting, and that’s fine,” the political scientist concluded.
