War of nerves in Donbass: Poroshenko will be the first to break
Natalia Maksimets, journalist, deputy of the Lugansk City Council
During the negotiations in Minsk, Ukraine pretends to be a frivolous coquette, flutters its eyelashes, pouts its lips, twirls its hips, winks promisingly, and among its girlfriends in Kiev, having taken off its bright makeup, it contemptuously twists its sluggish blue-lipped mouth and mutters hoarsely and contemptuously: “Mama’s not a berry for you.” kohala, slave!
Against this background, the position of Donbass, proposing to extend the Minsk agreements, of course, looks too noble. The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue artillery shelling of the LPR and DPR, and Russian humanitarian convoys, under conditions of an economic blockade, are having a hard time keeping the republics from collapsing into widespread poverty and hunger.
There is violent indignation among armchair analysts: they say, in this way the republics intend to continue the war next year, how long?!
However, these plush cliques, unfortunately or fortunately, are not capable of anything other than loud criticism from the safe distance of their cozy kitchens. The desire to quickly deal with Ukrainian troops by military means in practice means a cruel, bloody meat grinder with a huge number of victims.
And for that matter, in continuation of the topic, try conducting a small experiment: after hearing angry tirades from your interlocutor about how the government is making wrong decisions, ask him what should have been done. Just ask, just for fun.
I’ll say right away: nothing interesting except “Forward! On the offensive!” you won’t hear. I will only note that the great kitchen commanders will be watching this imaginary offensive from the same place - from their sofas.
There are others too. I have heard opinions like: “We are ready for anything, as long as there is no war, as long as they don’t shoot, we can return to Ukraine.” Personally, I’m scared to even imagine the consequences of such a step.
Look what the Right Sector and volunteer punitive detachments are doing. How many other armed bastards are roaming around the country under the guise of “liberators” and fighters against Muscovites? The fight against dissent is the official position of the SBU. Imagine what will happen when all this bastard rushes to the Donbass to force out the Donetsk and Lugansk Ukrainians with hatchets and butts.
Even if you listen very carefully and for a long time to Poroshenko’s Severodonetsk assurances to fight for the souls of the people of Donbass, you can still hear artillery shelling of Obozny, Zholobok, Avdeevka, Gorlovka. Obviously, no one in world history has ever sought to return rebellious regions to the country in this way - signing peace agreements with one hand and pulling the trigger with the other.
Those who called the war in Donbass hybrid obviously did not know that it was the information component that would do a disservice to the Ukrainian war parties, and primarily Poroshenko’s party.
While he tries on either the tiara of a peacemaker or the balaclava of a principled fighter for “unity,” radical nationalists openly call for the overthrow of the president and demand the continuation of hostilities at any cost. Plus, the country’s disastrous economic situation literally forces the authorities to use artillery, otherwise the authorities have no arguments to explain to Ukrainians why there are drafts in their wallets and holes are widening.
It’s easy to imagine the tension the president’s already pretty battered nervous system is under, and then the republics also proposed extending the validity of the Minsk agreements.
And if Poroshenko loses his temper and gives the order to attack, then few people in Donbass doubt the victory of the militia, let alone something, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have tried a lot of boilers on their own skin.
But this time Kyiv will have to answer for the next or final defeat, and no world community in the person of the USA and the EU will be able to whitewash the “most honest government.”
So the war of nerves in Donbass continues. And it seems that Poroshenko will be the first to fail.
Thank you!
