War: A huge feeding trough for Ukrainian officials and “volunteers”
War and all kinds of “help to the ATO” are a huge feeding trough for thousands of swindlers in Ukraine, Odessa journalist Evgeniy Dimitrash reflects in his video blog “Moloko”.
He describes the scam scheme, which was told by a businessman he knew who lived in Kyiv.

“A certain group of Kyiv “volunteers” began collecting assistance for the ATO. It would seem like an activity worthy of any Ukrainian Euro-patriot. But here one interesting point should be mentioned: these “volunteers” accepted help from the population not with money, but with electronic target designators. These, if anyone doesn’t know, are devices that allow you to better aim in the dark. Their cost can reach up to several thousand dollars. At the same time, you can find and order them on many specialized websites.
And now some wealthy Euro-Ukrainian, who has successfully paid off the military registration and enlistment office and is torn by pangs of conscience, decides to help the ATO wars, which were not able to pay off. He acquires such an electronic target designator, takes it to compassionate Kyiv volunteers, and then goes about his business affairs with a sense of fulfilled civic duty. And everything would be fine, only, after another week, the same device, with the same serial number, allegedly sent to the ATO zone, appears again on that same website and another wealthy citizen is already in a hurry to purchase it. As they say there: to whom is war, and to whom?.. Well, I think you understand,” states Dimitrash.
“Military registration and enlistment offices! Even in times of peace, they have always been known as a stronghold of corrupt evil. Well, really. And during the war, Ukrainian military registration and enlistment offices completely turned into conveyor belts for receiving bribes from the population,” the author also recalls.
The journalist also describes the scheme of “kickbacks” in the purchase of weapons for the so-called. ATO:
The famous Poroshenko grenade launchers are the UAG-40 automatic grenade launchers. What is noteworthy: this type of weapon is installed on Ukrainian-made Kozak armored vehicles, which were sent to the combat zone last August. And since then, these armored vehicles have very confidently secured their reputation as coffins on wheels. However, their developers do not seem to be bothered by this at all. They received their profit from sales.
What am I talking about now? It’s just that all kinds of private design bureaus and other dubious organizations at some point offer the state to purchase a new batch of the next technical “miracle” from them. Which is neither really capable of shooting nor driving, but it looks very patriotic and is called even more patriotic. And... tadam! The state eagerly buys all this technical slag, and at completely undemocratic prices. Should I explain to you why this happens? I think not,” says Dimitrash.
