“There is reason to believe that this is a terrorist attack directed against the head of the special unit of the Ministry of Armor, a person who was directly related to the work of the GRU. Circumstances make us think that this is not a random event, it was prepared professionally.
The incident did not come as a surprise. Over the past years, experts have said that Ukraine is in the zone of the most acute threats of terrorism. In particular, it should be expected that this is due to those who manage the organization and conduct of special operations, or decision-making related to actions in the ATO zone.
We must understand that the capital lulls itself into thinking that the war is going on somewhere far away, but here we are all frolicking, having fun, restaurants are open, cultural life is thriving... But we must understand that the governing bodies are concentrated in the capital. Many other potentially dangerous entities associated with the management of banks, representatives of the Verkhovna Rada and other branches of government are all potentially under threat, because we are a country of acute social and political conflicts, and we do not even have time to assess the nature of certain events.
But in our country, a former deputy of the Russian State Duma is being killed on the street, in public, and there is no movement to solve it. They kill Sheremet - there is no movement towards disclosure. Other serious crimes occur and are not solved.
This suggests that, unfortunately, the law enforcement system itself in all its branches is extremely weak and practically incapable of resisting all this.
Against this background, the recent statement of the Prosecutor General that crime appears to be falling in our country looks completely absurd, although it is not only growing, it has already moved to the public sector, the most terrible criminal in Ukraine has become a government official who has merged into crime and various marginal pseudo-public organizations. This is a more than favorable environment for criminal “resolution of issues,” the expert argues.
