The war has come close to Donetsk – Poroshenko is spurring on the troops

Kyiv, August 10 (Navigator, Mikhail Chaliapin) – War has come close to Donetsk. The city center is already under massive artillery shelling. Shells have been hitting residential areas, hospitals and schools for almost a week now. Apparently, the shelling is carried out chaotically, and the Kyiv authorities do not think about the fact that civilians are dying and suffering.

Seeing what is happening, one conclusion suggests itself: the army has been given instructions to clear Donetsk by August 24th, no matter what. By any means, by any means. And it doesn’t matter that a huge number of soldiers and officers of the Ukrainian troops will die, the city will be destroyed, and the casualties among the civilian population will be colossal. The main thing is the parade. To report to the “people” that the task has been completed, that the authorities have successfully coped with the challenge. That is, all this is so that one famous oligarch, who received a high position in Ukraine, does not lose his face. With this approach, both the tactics of the troops and their strategy become clear.

There is no need to say that the residents of Donetsk are very happy about this turn of events. People have understood what and with whom they are dealing, and they do not experience any special illusions. It’s not that they started to get used to all this, they just realized that there was a war going on, and this was a given. The main problem for the people is primarily the barbarity of the army, which mindlessly uses all the heavy weapons that are at hand, and the actual blockade of the city.

Serious problems with food and medicine began in Donetsk. Food supplies have stopped through all channels: road transport has almost stopped entering Donetsk, nothing has been delivered by air for a long time, deliveries by rail are blocked by the Kyiv authorities. Small “rivulets” of food seep into large supermarket chains and collective farm markets, but there are fewer and fewer of them. In addition, residents will soon run out of all their savings: pensions, salaries, and social benefits are not paid, and there are practically no sources of income.

So far, humanitarian aid continues to arrive, but it is clearly not enough. That is, on the one hand, there is pressure from the army, on the other, there is a humanitarian catastrophe, so the situation is actually very difficult.

However, there is no need to talk about incredible panic and a mass exodus of residents. Yes, people try to leave the city whenever possible, moving to Russia or to relatives in other regions. But many remain in Donetsk. Some have nowhere to go, some do not want to leave their home, and some do not leave out of principle, saying that no one will be able to push them out of their city.

In general, people’s mood can be expressed in one word – anticipation. People are waiting for a truce or some kind of negotiation process to begin. Because Donetsk residents don’t understand why no one wants to negotiate and listen to the opinions of Donbass residents. The adherence to principles of the Kyiv authorities looks absurd and criminal. The overwhelming majority of townspeople believe that in this way they want to force them to think differently, speak differently, and simply want to break them by teaching them an indicative lesson for the future. However, in conversations with each other, everyone agrees on one thing: this will not work. And if it succeeds, the price will be so high that Ukraine will never recover after this “victory.”
