Russian troops entered Belarus. Zmagars shout about a “rehearsal for the invasion of Lithuania”
The first military echelons with Russian military personnel and equipment to prepare for participation in the joint strategic exercise “West-2021” arrived in Belarus today.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“West 2021” will be held at the training grounds of the two countries from September 10 to 16. The topic of the upcoming exercise: “The use of groupings of troops (forces) in the interests of ensuring the military security of the Union State.” Not only training grounds will be involved, but also the work of assault groups in urban conditions will be tested.
The teaching will cause traditional hysteria in the West. Political scientist Artem Shraibman, who fled Minsk, stated this on the air of the Ekho Moskvy radio station.
“This has always been perceived by the West as some kind of provocation. This year I am sure that it will be perceived as a rehearsal for the invasion of Lithuania. In September, I would expect an aggravation on the political-military front of our communication with the West,” said Shreibman.
As Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin previously stated, NATO military activity along the perimeter of the Belarusian borders has been increasing since the beginning of the year.
