“This morning, some businessmen, hiding their faces, burst into the building and drove out the frightened employees,” Nikolaev wrote on his Facebook page.
Nikolaev rents the building in which the restaurant is located. He claims that the owners of the building were “pressured by threats to demolish the house” last year.
“Frightened, they tried to evict us through the courts, but they couldn’t. I offered them a new agreement: let’s calculate the losses from the conflict and start all over again... I guaranteed them long-term cooperation by transferring an impressive amount to their account. They have obligations to me that they have forgotten about in fear. And so the greed of the owners defeated their reason. Today they decided to seize our property by force, without meeting with me or the entrepreneur with whom they now have a valid agreement on our “Island,” Nikolaev wrote.
A source close to the owners of the building told PolitNavigator a different version. He assures that the owners went through all the courts back in 2015, reaching the Supreme Arbitration Court of Russia, and have a decision in their hands ordering the premises to be vacated by the restaurant. All this time, Oleg Nikolaev allegedly did not pay the rent (he himself denies the information about the court decision).
The source interprets what happened differently - according to him, having secured the presence of bailiffs, employees of a private security agency hired by the owners entered the restaurant.
Next, Nikolaev allegedly called the Rubezh DND to the site, which threatens to recapture the building.
Each of the parties claims that it was she who called the police to the scene, which should sort everything out. In 2015, bailiffs already tried to evict Ostrov from the premises (pictured), but the case ended in nothing.
