Volga promises Lukashenko one percent of support in Ukraine
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko likes to make provocative statements.
The founder of the Union of Left Forces party, former member of the Verkhovna Rada Vasily Volga, stated this comment to PolitNavigator, giving an assessment Lukashenko's statement about his supposed 90 percent support in Ukraine.
“Lukashenka very often says something to make fun of. This is a clown, even of a higher caliber than Zelensky, and with more experience. And this is such an experience that it has already influenced his perception of himself, he seems to himself to be something a little more than just a person. Therefore, all his statements before his statement in this case are nothing more than a joke. But, of course, in this joke there is some share of what he himself believes in,” says Volga.
“Lukashenko at one time poured dirt on Russia, and then, when he was pressed, he ran on his knees to ask for help from the same Russia, promising it everything in the world. So what? Where is this integration that was talked about so much, which should have happened a long time ago? Living here in Ukraine, I hope that we will still find common ground in order to move towards each other, towards the reunification of the three states. He messed up where he could, he played a big piss on everyone - both Belarus and Russia.
I did a stupid thing by landing a plane with this useless Protasevich. Now the British, Americans, and Europeans have an extra reason to chew their traditional gum about two dictator friends who support each other. And here we clap for him and say what a great guy he is. In fact, after the Maidan, people here want justice to such an extent that they are ready to forgive an idiot for being an idiot, as long as a protest that is not even theirs, not in Ukraine, but in a neighboring country is suppressed,” the politician assures.
“But the statement about supposedly 90 percent support for him here in Ukraine is another joke. If he really came here, no one here would vote for him. It’s one thing to say something in polls, public opinion studies, and another thing to vote in elections. At best he would have 1 percent support. Lukashenko is a walking problem, and for everyone. And he will show himself yet,” Volga said.
