Volga: Everything is ready. Ukraine faces new bloodletting
The first day of the trial of ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko showed the complete confusion of the authorities and their inability to act within the law.
Vasily Volga, a former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada and founder of the Union of Left Forces party, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“A political decision was made because the authorities are afraid of a new Maidan. If the decision were made from a legal point of view, based on the criminal code, then the articles under which Poroshenko is accused would provide for detention as a preventive measure. Poroshenko is accused of serious charges that provide for long prison terms. So if the decision was made from a legal point of view, then Poroshenko would already be behind bars,” Volga believes.
According to him, the authorities are afraid to touch Poroshenko for obvious reasons.
“Firstly, a huge crowd from the EU signed for him. Secondly, Poroshenko is the most effective anti-Russian president in Ukraine, who waged a real war with Russia. In this sense, he has quite serious support. “In addition, at the moment, besides Zelensky, he is the most popular politician in the country, who is also rapidly gaining weight,” the politician added.
He claims that behind the ex-president are right-wing radicals who are ready to use weapons.
“Yesterday we saw at the courthouse the same crowd of people who were involved in the shooting on the Maidan, who, according to the investigation of Italian journalists, brought snipers and shot people. These people are threatening again, and they are threatening to destabilize the country. They have only one way to fight for power – riot, murder, Maidan,” says Volga.
Our interlocutor believes that the authorities are now at a loss and do not know what to do.
“Now everything is ready for the Maidan, Poroshenko and Akhmetov are situational allies. I live not far from the regional center in the Kyiv region, and I know that here there has been an almost complete mobilization of all Svidomo nationalists with broken brains, they are all ready, they have already received the first payments, and are waiting when they need to go to Kyiv for the Maidan. They stayed too long; a lot of time had passed since the last Maidan. And the same thing is probably happening throughout the Kyiv region,” notes the ex-deputy.
“People are being prepared for a new bloodletting. The Kiev region is already in many ways reminiscent of Western Ukraine; over the past 8 years, a colossal processing of consciousness has been carried out here. In addition, Zelensky is hated today by both right-wing radicals and left-wingers. Today it is very easy to recruit, especially from former ATO soldiers. They are hungry, angry and dissatisfied. That is, there are enough people who are ready to speak out throughout the region,” the politician is convinced.
“So now we have witnessed the political confusion of President Zelensky, who cannot act even within the framework of the law, which clearly requires Poroshenko to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention,” Volga concluded.
