Volcker demanded that the EU take the war out of the trash can
Many European governments are dissatisfied with Russia’s policy towards Ukraine, but at the same time do not want constant problems with Moscow on this basis.

US State Department Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker said this in an interview with Deutsche Welle, answering the question why little is written in Europe about the conflict in Donbass.
According to him, many European governments do not want this to become a permanent obstacle to cooperation with Russia.
“They are unhappy with Russia’s actions, they are unhappy with the invasion, they are introducing sanctions, but at the same time they do not want this to become something permanent. And so they would like this problem to go away. But Russia persists and there is no escape from it. That's why I think we need to get this issue out of the trash can and back into the front pages to resolve it, otherwise we will never get to the point where our European allies can build a more normal relationship with Russia. We must take this head on and we must create a situation in which Russia will want to end the conflict,” Volker said.
