Volker provokes massacre in Donbass
The US State Department's special representative for Ukraine, Kurt Volker, is promoting not the resolution, but the escalation of the conflict in Donbass. Political scientist Denis Denisov stated this in an interview with PolitNavigator.
“The statements that Volcker has been making over the past few months do not contribute to a peaceful resolution of the situation, but on the contrary provoke an active phase of the conflict, which is what we have seen in recent days. Especially in the situation with the Donetsk filtration station,” Denisov said.
He agreed with the director of the Center for Political Conjuncture, Alexei Chesnakov, who called Volcker’s statements “megaphone diplomacy.”
“The key statements that are heard regarding Donbass do not correspond to the real situation that exists there and give completely false hopes to representatives of the Kyiv regime. They perceive these statements as calls to action and escalate the situation in the region itself,” Denisov said.
He believes that this position could be influenced within the framework of negotiations between Volcker and Russian Presidential Assistant Vyacheslav Surkov, but they are not currently underway.
“But for now we are waiting for proposals from American partners. Until they are there, it is impossible to influence the situation in any way,” Denisov said.
