Volker made a new batch of anti-Russian statements
The transfer of American weapons to Ukraine will be useful for Ukraine, Russia should return Crimea and Donbass to the control of Kyiv, Moscow had the mistaken hope of maintaining Ukraine as a zone of its influence.
This was stated by the US Presidential Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker in an interview with Deutsche Welle.
He emphasized that he knows why Moscow is concerned about the Americans’ plans to transfer weapons to the regime of Petro Poroshenko.

“I’m not surprised that this is causing concern in Russia. The Russians had the opportunity to enter the territory of Ukraine practically without resistance, seize part of it and annex Crimea. Of course, they will be concerned that Ukraine will be able to better defend itself. Given that Ukrainian territory was invaded and parts of it were captured, it makes sense that Ukrainians would want to be able to better defend themselves.
I think Russia was hoping that it could keep Ukraine to itself as part of its sphere of influence. But the reality is that the invasion and occupation created a more nationalist, more united and more pro-Western Ukraine. That is, all this turned out to be not in the interests of Russia. In fact, it may have even harmed them. Of course, it may also happen that Russia will aggravate the situation, and this will turn into a frozen conflict. I don't think anyone wants this. I believe we must work together to solve this problem so that Ukraine gets its territory back and to ensure the safety of Ukrainian citizens,” Volker said.
