Volkov may be held accountable for slandering Prigozhin
According to a statement by businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin regarding an employee of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) Leonid Volkov instituted criminal case.
Representatives of Concord reported this by publishing a corresponding message on the organization’s official page on the VKontakte social network.
According to the Concord press service, the materials published on behalf of Volkov constitute a crime. Earlier, on September 1, 2020, publications appeared on Volkov’s Facebook and Telegram pages with false information about the St. Petersburg entrepreneur, discrediting his honor and business reputation. A team of Concord lawyers turned to the Department of Internal Affairs for the Savyolovsky district of Moscow with a request to initiate a criminal case.
«We inform you that as part of the investigative actions, it is necessary to interrogate Leonid Volkov to confirm his participation in the publication of slander, as well as carry out all other investigative actions aimed at establishing the persons and circumstances of the crime. The court also issued a ruling recognizing Evgeniy Viktorovich as a victim in a criminal case. A forensic linguistic examination has been appointed,” Concord said in a statement.
The company’s lawyers hope that the offender will be held accountable for fake publications, and also thanked the Department of Internal Affairs employees for the work done.
Now representatives of Concord are closely monitoring the publications of FBK employees. The materials of some of Navalny’s associates have already become reasons for filing relevant applications. The violators turned out to be Vladimir Milov and Lyubov Sobol. After filing a statement against Volkov, the FBK employee decided not to return from Germany, trying to avoid punishment for the offense.
