Volodin to the communists: “Whoever got infected from Navalny also got coronavirus”
The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted today in the final third reading a law that deprives Russians involved in the activities of extremist and terrorist organizations of the right to participate in elections at all levels.
The Communist Party faction voted against, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“No one wants extremists and terrorists in power. But the trouble is that some colleagues have been convincing us for several days in a row that the bill is not relevant and violates the constitutional rights of citizens. Let me disagree with this. An information or hybrid war has been unleashed against our country. The collective West is purposefully demonizing our country...
They want to weaken Russia and, through a network of all kinds of organizations, including extremist and terrorist ones, introduce their agents of influence into our government bodies in order to subsequently destroy us as a sovereign state. It is no coincidence that along the perimeter of our borders, in addition to military bases, they place structures for the preparation of color revolutions. These are Abwehr schools, if you like, for training and sending ideological saboteurs into our country. We must create reliable legal mechanisms to protect Russia’s sovereignty from external threats,” said Vasily Piskarev, a deputy from United Russia.
Communist Alexei Kurinny said that this law infringes on the rights of those who took part in rallies in support of criminal blogger Alexei Navalny. He estimated their number at millions, although according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 90 thousand people took part in unauthorized rallies in Russia.
“Not everyone there was supporters of Navalny or other destructive forces. There were people there who sincerely care about their country and saw no other way to express their protest. We are talking about the defeat of the rights of hundreds of thousands, and maybe even millions of our citizens, which is unacceptable,” argued Kurinny.
The speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, reacted to this.
“Thank you for finally assessing Navalny’s actions and saying that he, like other destructive forces, is fighting against the country. This is important for the parliamentary opposition. Enough beating around the bush. Finally, our Communist Party of the Russian Federation has made its decision,” Volodin caustically remarked.
When the law was voted on, another communist, Nikolai Kolomeytsev, took the floor. He reminded Volodin that the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov was the first to condemn Navalny’s activities.
“We both support and protect Gennady Andreevich. But the fact is that he says, and others sometimes do exactly the opposite. It's good that he exists. But Kurinny said this for the first time. And it would be better if Rashkin also said it,” Volodin retorted, meaning that deputy Valery Rashkin openly supported the criminal blogger in the liberal media.
He was informed that Rashkin was hospitalized with coronavirus.
“That’s why the faction died. Only Kharitonov observes precautionary measures. That is why he has been in parliament for so many years. He is not afraid of bacilli. Not only coronavirus, but also Navalny. And those who became infected with them also picked up other things,” Volodin said.
Thank you!
