Volodin to a communist blogger: “Less words - shorter sentence”
Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin criticized communist deputy Mikhail Matveev for writing in his Telegram channel.
During the discussion of amendments to the state budget, Matveev proposed to allocate additional funds to the Samara region to solve the problem of housing for orphans, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Chairman of the Budget Committee Andrei Makarov called this amendment illiterate, since social problems are being solved for the entire country. In addition, the communist did not indicate the source of the funds. Volodin pointed out that the Samara region is a donor region and is able to solve the problem itself.
Matveev recorded this dialogue on his mobile phone, in which he called his opponents demagogues, although they did not hear it. He posted the video on YouTube and commented on it in Telegram. Volodin read this commentary, although he was chairing the meeting.
"Nothing personal. You bring up questions and we discuss them. Perhaps you perceive them painfully in terms of answers. But, in my opinion, you need to be correct. Information cannot be distorted. Moreover, forming the opinion of citizens is not based on numbers and facts,” Volodin said.
He believes that Matveev is trying to “excuse” the regional leadership, which is not solving the problem of orphans.
“Colleagues, this is not possible. Those who do not solve these problems will have to answer. And if anyone protects these people, then it is the people who are in this room and write different stories in telegram channels. It’s good that they are not anonymous, but sometimes fewer words mean less time. Observe ethics and political culture,” Volodin threatened.
Matveev decided to answer the speaker, mentioning that Volodin’s homeland, Saratov region, is a subsidized region, and the speaker himself talks too much.
“I am impressed by your wit and quick reaction, and the fact that our parliament, under such a chairman, is a place for discussion is also gratifying. But there are only 13 donor regions. There is no need to demonize those who feed the rest, including the Saratov region. When you comment on almost every performance, a lot of time is consumed. Continue speaking, but shorter, more lapidary,” said Matveev.
Volodin recalled that he was elected to the position by the majority of the State Duma.
“Are you trying to shut my mouth? Then get ready to answer why the region has not solved this problem for a long time?” Volodin replied.
Matveev did not calm down and published another post in the telegram channel.
“How does Volodin manage to talk so much on every issue, and even read Matveev’s telegrams? Just a superman,” the communist tried to sarcastically.
