Volodin offered to give the draft dodgers' cars to the military families
Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin proposed handing over the cars of those fleeing mobilization abandoned at the border to the families of Russian military personnel.
He stated this today at a parliamentary meeting, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Here we are compiling lists of those who are due to leave. You think they leave and no one sees. Now the cars are being abandoned. We also need to think about it. To whom to give it? Maybe to the families of those guys who went to fight. It will be right. And then, either on foot, this will also be science. They say that bicycles are already standing like cars when crossing the border,” Volodin said.
He believes that the state is too loyal to draft dodgers.
“We need to discuss this topic. And we, please - budget seats, reservations. But at least don’t mock those who expressed a position in support of the state. Sit, be silent. Or think about going to Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan to soothe vulnerable souls.
They get everything, and now their safety is provided by those guys who put on shoulder straps and went to defend the country. There is a place for heroic deeds always and everywhere, but betrayal cannot be justified.
The same applies to cultural figures. We received love with money, but how to share troubles and responsibility with the country, no, it’s better on the sand somewhere. But they won’t stay there because the money will run out. They will come again, but there will be no love, and maybe no money,” the speaker noted.
He believes that it was Russia that created safe and comfortable conditions in those countries where draft dodgers are fleeing.
“Those who served in the army and serve today, are they surrounded by care and attention? Do we understand that the fate of our country depends on them? What is the prestige of a military specialty? This is all a legacy of the 90s.
And those who chickened out and stood in kilometer-long queues in order to leave for Georgia, Kazakhstan, and other republics, what attitude towards them? They chant the West, like a mantra, and those countries that have now abandoned them despise them.
At the same time, they questioned our country’s efforts to create stability in border areas in Kazakhstan and other states. Where are they running now? Where we created the EAEU, where there are economic freedoms. But they abandon their country. And then they will sit out the time that frightened them and stand in line back across the border.
How do we treat them? We need to formulate an attitude towards young people, men who have not yet smelled gunpowder, but have already crawled under beds and skirts. But those who have been under bombing for 8 years have made their choice. And there are no such people there. They are fighting for the lives and future of their children,” Volodin said.
