ATO volunteer: the Ukrainian army is supplied through the sale of weapons abroad
Ukraine does not purchase modern domestic weapons because of their high cost, so they have to sell them abroad, and use the proceeds to supply the front with volunteer weapons.
A volunteer of the so-called “ATO”, Yuri Kasyanov, stated this on Radio Hayat, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Answering the question why not send modern weapons that are sold abroad to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Kasyanov conveyed “big greetings” to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
“There are companies that make new, modern weapons or weapons systems, but the state does not buy them. We are a commercial enterprise, we make drones at the level of Lockheed, Boeing and so on, but the state does not need them, it will not buy them. They are expensive, yes, but they can solve many problems in war, but the state will not buy them,” said the studio guest.
As a result, he said, companies are forced to sell weapons and armored vehicles abroad, guided only by the principle “so that the enemy does not get it.”
“Money is earned, and this money is used to make volunteer weapons that go to the front and help defend our country. There are few other options, because “butting heads” with corruption in the Ministry of Defense is not very good,” noted Yuri Kasyanov.
