Volunteer: children of refugees from the east are afraid to go to Ukrainian schools
Kyiv, August 30 (Navigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – Refugee children are afraid to go to schools in places of temporary residence due to cases of discrimination, said Svetlana Tarabanova, coordinator of the East SOS movement, on the Espresso TV channel.

“Today, many media outlets sow division in society by broadcasting stories about the misbehavior of refugees and their ingratitude. As a result, many children are simply afraid to go to school, especially in adolescence. Not only do they often simply have nothing to wear and do not have enough money for ordinary notebooks, they are also afraid of prejudice. And we see such cases. It happens that people react to immigrants in the spirit of “they’ve come in large numbers.” It is necessary for children to feel comfortable, but there is no understanding on the part of the authorities, and sometimes even ordinary people,” said the volunteer.
As Navigator reported, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Valery Chaly said that there are more than 200 thousand displaced people in Ukraine.
