Maidan volunteer: Putin defeated Ukraine without invasion and “Caliber”
Ukrainian nationalists failed: in order to defeat Russia, they did not have to use either precision weapons or send in troops. Today, even former militants no longer believe in the success of the punitive operation in the Donbass; they find an outlet in vodka and drugs.
A former Automaida militant, a so-called volunteer, writes about this on his blog. “ATO” Yuri Kasyanov, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Putin won in Ukraine; Invasion divisions, Calibers and Iskanders were not needed for this. The victory was ensured by television, controlled by an unprincipled—after all, “money has no smell”—pseudo-national “elite” with flexible (depending on benefit) views on patriotism and democracy. Putin won in Ukraine, and the number of those who supported the idea of defending the country decreased tenfold.
I can see this even in my posts: in 2014-2015 they got thousands of likes, but those reposted today don’t get even hundreds. Those who were “burning” with patriotism turned away and became disappointed. They don’t believe in themselves, they don’t believe in Ukraine, they don’t believe that we ourselves can change anything. “Let everything go as it goes, and it will be as it will be!..” - I hear more and more often from those who actually fought, whom I myself saw in the war.
True patriots, and fighters are increasingly drowning out their pain in vodka and drugs. Their place is taken by hulks in identical, brand new brown uniforms with the obligatory bags at the ready. I don't know who they are. What kind of “volunteer organizations” are these, dressed in a thousand dollars each, short-haired and pumped up, like Buzhansky,” writes Kasyanov.
An activist who supports the punitive operation in Donbass believes that Ukraine is following the spiral of its history, repeating the events of a hundred years ago. And the reason for this is the former president of the country, Petro Poroshenko.
“Nobody wants to fight. Nobody believes in victory. Well-fed big men replaced the wimpy patriots who climbed into the thick of it at the beginning of the war. I'm not complaining. I am stating the facts. Ukraine is entering a steep peak of disintegration and the loss of blurred national guidelines. This is what happened in 1918, when pitiful hundreds of desperate patriots came out to defend the country, while millions remained at home to await the Bolshevik massacre and famine.
And finally, so that there are no misunderstandings, this trouble was started by the cowardly and greedy Poroshenko. And the last nail in the coffin of Ukrainian independence will be hammered by Medvedchuk - after no Zelensky. But only you yourself will be to blame for this,” sums up Kasyanov.
