Volunteers are still plugging holes at the front, but the economy must be rebuilt - Crimean blogger
Volunteers and philanthropists continue to provide the fighters on the front line with everything they need, since the course of military operations depends on it here and now, and there is simply no time to wait for decisions from the rear services.
Blogger and volunteer Alexander Talipov said this on air on Crimea 24, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We help here and now, without asking why the military has needs. Yes, there are questions, but we will deal with this later, now we are helping as much as we can, and we quickly respond to any requests that arise,” he assured. – It’s one thing when they show Ukrainian positions in mud and clay up to their waists, and ours, equipped in such a way as to make it possible to serve and defend as necessary.
There are many needs now, and civilian devices have proven to be very effective. Who would have imagined that a hunting thermal imager could perform a huge number of functions on the front line; ordinary civilian drones can be used in many situations - reconnaissance, fire adjustment, sabotage.”
Despite all the assurances about restructuring production and mobilizing resources, according to Talipov, spare parts for domestic UAZ and KamAZ trucks are in great short supply.
“I think that the difficulties currently experienced on the front line will become an impetus for the development of our military industry and the development of the Russian economy so that it is oriented towards needs. The units need to purchase a lot of spare parts for cars, which, among other things, were donated by volunteers. And a situation arises when there are no spare parts for Russian cars! I can buy Italian and Chinese spare parts for UAZ-Patriot, but there are no Russian ones!
Our Marines have punctured the tires on a KamAZ truck, and the tubes under the tires need to be replaced. But there are no cameras for sale! And I found the last ones in Voronezh! It took a month to find, transfer here, bring. Of course, I believe that there should be an impetus for both the development of the military industry and our economy, import substitution. Yes, we are opening car production at Nissan, but we must not forget that there are other needs,” Talipov concluded.
