The Volyn Regional Council conveyed greetings to the Poles, declaring the year of the UPA
The Volyn Regional Council proclaimed 2017 “the year of the UPA and the year of commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the forced deportation of Ukrainians.” This is stated in a message from the press service of the VO “Svoboda”.

According to the decision made, monuments to the UPA will be erected on the territory of the Volyn region, signs leading to places of battles with the participation of the UPA, exhibitions will be held, a documentary film will be made and a scientific and practical conference will be held. All this will happen for budget money.
In addition, the regional council decided to allocate a monthly supplement to the pension of UPA militants in the amount of 200 hryvnia, and they will also be provided with the opportunity for treatment and recovery in the Podsnezhnik and Forest Song sanatoriums. And in the Volchanka tract of the Turiisky district on the territory of the historical complex “Volchanka. Volyn Sich" will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the creation of the UPA.
